Introduction SARS Coronavirus is an enveloped virus containing 3 outer structural proteins, namely the membrane (M), envelope (E), and spike (S) proteins. Spike (S)-glycoprotein of the virus interacts with a cellular receptor and mediates membrane fusion to allow viral entry into susceptible target cells. Accordingly, S-protein takes part in virus infection cycle and is the primary target of neutralizing antibodies.Description The recombinant SARS Spike containing a total of 220 amino acids (306-515) and having a calculated M.W. of 24.8 kDa.
SARS Spike is fused to a 6 amino acid His-tag at C-terminus, and is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Formulation The SARS Spike (306-515) solution (0.5mg/ml) contains Phosphate-Buffered Saline (pH 7.4) and 10% Glycerol.
Stability Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity Protein is >95% pure as determined SDS-PAGE.
